Samba de Amigo : gmaes features, reviews, gameplay, characters at discountedgame

Samba de Amigo (English: Friend's Samba)

is a rhythm gmaes developed by Sonic Team and released in 1999 by Sega in arcades, and in 2000 for the Dreamcast video gmaes console. Similar to games such as Guitar Hero and DrumMania, the player uses controllers shaped like instruments -- in this case, maracas -- with the goal of matching a series of patterns displayed onscreen. It can be played by one or two players simultaneously.

Samba de Amigo is played with a pair of maracas. As a song plays, the player (guided by on-screen graphics) must shake the maracas at high, middle, or low heights with the beat of the music, or occasionally must strike poses with the maracas held in various positions. The player is represented on-screen by "Amigo", a grinning monkey with a square head and a sombrero. If the player does well, the scene around the monkey (usually a concert or a dance) will attract more people and become more vividly animated; if the player does poorly, characters leave and eventually all that's left is the monkey alone, looking sad.

In the primary gmaes mode, each player has six spots arranged in a circle on the screen: two red meaning 'shake high,' two yellow meaning 'shake middle,' and two green meaning 'shake low.' Blue dots will appear in the center of this circle and move towards the spots; as soon as the blue dot touches a spot, the player must shake a maraca at that location. For example, if a blue dot touches the upper left spot, the player must shake either maraca above his left shoulder. If both maracas are shaken in that location, the player gets an 'Amigo' bonus. Occasionally a long line of dots will flow into a spot and the word 'Shake' appears, telling the player to continue shaking his maraca rapidly there. Sometimes a stick-figure (named "Pose-kun") appears on the screen holding its maracas in a certain position; the player has a second or two to match the figure's pose for points.

The home gmaes adds a "party mode," with minigames such as Guacamole (pronounced and played much the same as "whack-a-mole"), Strike A Pose (consisting of a long sequence of poses to make), and 1-2-Samba! (where spots must be hit in sequence - the Japanese version's name for this mini gmaes, "Ichi Ni San-ba," is a pun on counting to three in Japanese). The home version also has features which can be unlocked, such as sound effects and hidden songs.
For the home version of the game, the Sega maracas controllers are red, and the rattle part can be unscrewed from the top of each for quieter play. Each maraca has a cord which is plugged into to a bar that lays in front of the player's feet. The bar is slightly more than two feet in length and has a sensor at each end, and each maraca has an ultrasonic transmitter mounted on its cord; presumably this allows the system to triangulate the position of each maraca as the player holds it. The gmaes can also be played with the standard Dreamcast controller, but this makes the gmaes trivial to play.

With the exception of the Ver. 2000 sequel, the maracas were never officially used for any other gmaes , though they can be used with Namco's Mr Driller for approximate control of the player's character. A single maraca could also be used to control the SNK produced gmaes Cool Cool Toon.

Samba name controversy
The choose of the name Samba in the gmaes title was controversial. There are any samba songs in the gmaes and even maraca is not used in samba music. In EGM Brazil magazine interview, developers said that samba was chosen because it represents a wide view of latin music genres. Samba has a very different genre genealogy from latins mambo, merengue and other tropical Latin subgenres, with roots brought from Africa, fully developed in Brazil on XX Century and famous worldwide with unmistakable beat. The song Vamos a Carnaval has anything from Samba from Brazilian Carnival.

Samba de Amigo: Ver. 2000, a follow-up to this gmaes, was released in Japan for the arcades and the Dreamcast. As the name suggests, it is more of an upgrade than a sequel, and it contains the following additions:

14 new songs have been added, as well as six new downloadable songs for the home version.
Whereas in the original game, there were only three songs to choose in each stage, this version allows the player to choose several.

A new character named Amiga joins the cast. She is Amigo's sister, and wields a tambourine.
In the home version, a new volleyball game replaces the original minigames. Survival Mode was also added, where the player must finish as many songs in a row as they can. In addition, the Challenge Mode has new goals, as well as five new "Secret" stages that are quite difficult.

Hustle Mode

The most significant addition to Ver. 2000 is the new "Hustle Mode". In this mode, the player still must follow the dots and shake the maracas in the appropriate location, but this is done a lot less often. Instead, Pose-kun appears frequently, and in addition to making the player do static poses, he will be shaking his maracas in certain patterns that the player must mimic. These patterns include either shaking one or both maracas back and forth between two of the six positions, or doing a full 360° rotation starting from one position, and looping all the way back around. All the songs in the gmaes, including the ones previously found in the first version, have both Original and Hustle Mode patterns, adding a whole new dimension to the game.
Samba de Amigo Ver. 2000 was announced for U.S. release, under the name Samba de Amigo Ver. 2001, but it was among the gmaes that were canceled when Sega discontinued support for their console.

While Ver. 2000 was the last Samba gmaes, that same year, Sega released a spiritual successor named Shakatto Tambourine. It was very much the same game as Samba de Amigo, except played with a tambourine controller, and featuring popular J-pop music.

It was revealed in 2007 that a new version of Samba De Amigo was being created for the Wii console by veteran developers Gearbox Software and Sonic Team. The new gmaes will take advantage of the motion tracking abilities of the Wii Remote. Official Nintendo Magazine UK have played a very early version of the sequel. They stated that the gmaes music and design was perfect but the functions of the controls had not been completely fixed and they were unable to enjoy the test fully. SEGA assured them that this matter would be fixed by the time of release. Also reported in Nintendo Power magizine, some of the tracks will be "Macarena","Cup of Life","Hot Hot Hot","Samba de Janeiro","La Bamba","Theme from Rocky","Low Rider", and "Conga". There will be 40+ tracks.

gmaes Characters
Amigo: The protagonist of the gmaes . Also appears in Sonic Pinball Party, Sega Superstars, Sega Superstars Tennis, and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. Amigo also makes a small cameo appearance on the cover of issue 15 of the Sonic X Comic beside Sonic and in the Sega Carnival track in Sonic Riders.

Amiga: Amigo's tambourine playing sister. Only appears in Ver. 2000.
Linda: A beautiful "butterfly girl" who loves to dance.
Bingo and Bongo: Two large mechanical bears who play bongos. Bingo is blue and male; Bongo is pink and female.

Rio: A male (but often taken as female) animal of indeterminate species who wears cheetah pattern clothing. He carries a horn but apparently prefers dancing.
Chumba and Wamba: Two male cheetahs who play mandolin (Chumba) and conga drums (Wamba). They were named for the band Chumbawamba, whose song "Tubthumping" appears in both gmaes (although it's a cover version by No Smoking).
Pose: A stick-figure-like character who tends to only appear as player instructions, although he is a computer opponent in one of the mini-games.

Sega Superstars Tennis Court

Samba de Amigo has a court in Sega superstars tennis. It is a sunny court and takes quite a few aspects from the Samba games. The music for the court is played by cacti, which appear in the background of the court.

Sonic Unleashed is an upcoming video gmaes in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The name was trademarked by Sega on March 12, 2008. Screenshots of cut scenes and gmaesplay were posted ten days later along with a video shortly after. The title was then officially confirmed on April 3, with a small selection of screenshots and an updated video. The gmaesplay style is markedly different when compared to recent games. It will focus on two-dimensional platforming levels, displayed in 3D, as well as fast, fully-3D controllable stages. gmaesplay will seamlessly transition between these two modes.

gmaes Story
Dr. Eggman is the primary antagonist for Sonic Unleashed. In this installment, Dr. Eggman has managed to shatter the planet into pieces, and it is up to Sonic to return the seven broken continents back to normal by retrieving the Chaos Emeralds and activating their power. The official press release alludes to a new twist to Sonic's abilities; unofficial screenshots, together with the official teaser trailer, indicate that Sonic's progress will be made even more difficult when he transforms into a werewolf at night. .

3D mode

gmaes play will primarily consist of two modes: a 3D sidescroller, with two-dimensional gameplay (as found in the Sonic Rush and Sonic Rivals series), with seamless shifts to 3D. Concepts returning from past games include Sonic's trademark high-speed gmaes play, as well as improved lock-on for automatically targeting and hitting enemies. Sliding across the ground also returns, but players will be able to perform new "side-step maneuvers", allowing Sonic to dodge obstacles to the left or right at high speed. Another new control mechanic, whose final implementation is still being decided upon by Sega, is "drift turns", whereby Sonic can slide around a corner.
An on-screen energy meter can be filled by collecting rings, which is used to activate a temporary speed boost, during which time the camera uses a fish-eye effect and motion blur; hitting enemies and obstacles will reduce the meter.
Two stages and associated gmaes play have been demonstrated to journalists, and shown to the public in screenshots; these two have been dubbed "Europe" and "Greece" by the publisher.
A day and night system will also be introduced.

Development
Sonic Unleashed at discountedgame gmaes
Sonic and his new werewolf form.

The development of Sonic Unleashed was announced in April 2008. The game runs on Sega's "Hedgehog Engine", which has been in production for three years. Unleashed was originally intended to be the third installment of the Sonic Adventure series. The gmaes is currently being developed internally by Sonic Team Japan. It will be a multiplatform release on the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PlayStation 2.
Wii Version
The Wii version of the gmaes will be developed specifically to take advantage of its controller's capabilities, with notable differences in gmaes play, and with different levels created specifically for this version. Dimps will be involved with designing the daytime stages for this and the PS2 version. The game will use the Wii Remote and Nunchuck option, and will support the gmaes Cube controller; Sega is also adding the option of using the Classic Controller.

Old Snake aiming at mercenaries.

In Metal Gear Solid 4, the player Old Snake must navigate the game world in order to progress, using stealth and cunning in addition to traditional combat. It will use the series' traditional third person view with full camera manipulation, but also allows the freedom to play in first-person mode, as well as an over the shoulder view which can be switched from right shoulder to left for easy corner maneuvering. The Close Quarters Combat system will be completely revamped. The player will also be able to interrogate guards for information and supplies.
Several elements from previous titles return in modified forms. Players will also use a new form of camouflage called "Octocamo", which replaces the camouflage system featured in Metal Gear Solid 3. Dark blue when disabled, the Octocamo suit allows the wearer to blend in with any surface within a few seconds. A new monocular device called "Solid Eye" replaces the various binoculars and image intensifiers from previous titles, and a steel drum complements the series' traditional cardboard box disguise. It is able to deflect bullets, and can be rolled to knock enemy soldiers over, but can lead to Snake being sick should the player roll around too much.
According to Ryan Payton, the gmaes will be filled with cut-scenes that explain what happened in previous MGS gmaes and how that relates to the events of MGS4. Players will be able to choose whether to view these scenes by pressing the circle button on their controller when prompted. Although informative enough to excite the hardcore fans of the series, the cut scenes will be straight forward enough for casual players. Players will have the choice of watching the cut scenes from predetermined camera angles or exploring them with the Metal Gear Mk. II. Snake will also be partnered with a robotic drone, the Metal Gear Mk. II, which allows him to communicate with other characters, in addition to the CODEC radio system from previous games. It is also capable of engaging enemies using an electric shock, as well as providing reconnaissance. This drone is reminiscent of Gillian Seed's robotic sidekick of the same name from another Hideo Kojima gmaes Snatcher.

Due to the lack of a rumble feature (an important part in previous titles) from the PlayStation 3 during much of the development, the gmaes had been designed with a new feature: a white "Threat Ring," that visibly vibrates when sound is made nearby. As a series known for extensive use of rumble, when Sony announced the reintroduction of a new DualShock 3, MGS4 was announced as one of the first major games to make use of the force feedback capabilities.
Snake's health will play some factor during gmaes play. If injured on the battlefield, cuts and burns will remain on his skin. However, the developers wish to avoid putting the stress of Snake's health to the players, so he wears a muscle suit, allowing players to move in a similar fashion to previous gmaes

Snake will have two new meters that replace the stamina bar from Snake Eater. The first meter, "Stress", is based on current fighting and climate conditions. This can cause Snake to go into a "combat high", that increases his accuracy and reduces damage sustained. However this effect will eventually wear off and could cause Snake to momentarily collapse. Smoking a cigarette calms Snake down. The second meter, "Psyche", slowly drops over time reducing Snake's accuracy. Scanning the pages of a glamor magazine will increase the meter.

There is also a "Baseline Map" which is a radar map with a dynamic circle based on Snake's "presence" to the environment. Accessible through the main menu, the Virtual Range is a test facility that allows the player to access the game's library of weapons as well as practice Snake's CQC moves.

In the May 2008 issue of EDGE magazine, Kojima expressed dissatisfaction with the final game, citing the game's graphics and his inability to realize his early vision. Kojima later clarified his remarks, stating that he was "very satisfied" with the final gmaes and that his initial comments were sensationalized and mistranslated.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake EaterMetal Gear Solid: Portable OpsMetal GearMetal Gear 2: Solid SnakeMetal Gear Solid (The Twin Snakes)Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of LibertyMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Set in 2014, five years after the "Big Shell Incident" (the events of the Plant chapter from Metal Gear Solid 2), Metal Gear Solid 4 portrays a world where the restriction of military intervention on foreign soil has been eased, fueling the need for private military companies (PMCs) to fight proxy wars for business purposes. Nanotechnology has become prominent, both to enhance the capabilities and enforce the loyalty of mercenaries. The nanos that are in the PMCs are called "Sons of the Patriots" or "SOP". The five largest of these PMCs (Which are named Praying Mantis, Otselotovaya Khvatka, Werewolf, Pieuvre Armement and Raven Sword) are owned by a single mother company named Outer Haven, which is operated by Liquid Ocelot. Amassing an army whose manpower rivals that of the United States, Liquid prepares to launch an armed insurrection by taking control of SOP. Liquid will have the power to control all of the PMCs. With the world once again in crisis, a rapidly aging and disillusioned Solid Snake is deployed into the Middle East by Roy Campbell to terminate Liquid. Guns of the Patriots will take place in five locations, Middle East, South America and Eastern Europe. It will also include Shadow Moses from Metal Gear Solid.

gmaes development

Hideo Kojima announced that he would be retiring as director of the Metal Gear series after Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and would leave his position open to another person for Metal Gear Solid 4, as he had announced he would after Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.[citation needed] As a joke, the new director was announced as "Alan Smithee", but in R, a 400-page book bundled with Metal Gear Solid 3's Japanese "Premium Package", the director was revealed to be Shuyo Murata, co-writer of MGS3 and director of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. He has also contributed humorous easter eggs to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. However, it was announced that Kojima will be co-directing the gmaes with Murata after substantial negative fan reaction, including death threats.

The title has been described as "essentially finished" since January 2008, and is currently entering extensive beta testing. As of April, a team of American and European journalists are the only individuals outside Konami to have played the gmaes through its entirety, and have provided feedback to the development team.

At Destination PlayStation on February 26, 2008, Sony announced that MGS4 would be released worldwide on June 12, 2008, along with the special MGS4 PlayStation 3 bundle.
Guns of the Patriots is the first PS3 game that uses a full 50GB dual layer Blu-ray Disc through extensive efforts in data compression.

In the May 2008 issue of EDGE magazine, Kojima has expressed disappointment in the final result of the gmaes 's graphics and his inability to realize his early vision. Kojima says, "But when we actually started developing the gmaes , we realized there were a lot of restrictions and so it turned out how you see it today ... we wanted to create something revolutionary, but in reality we couldn't really do that because of the CPU. We're using the Cell engine to its limit, actually. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising the PS3 machine, it's just that we weren't really aware of what the full-spec PS3 offered." However, Kojima has more recently stated that he is "very satisfied" with the final game and that he never said anything critical of the PS3 in the first place, citing mistranslation by Western media for the purpose of sensationalism for his previous 'remarks'.

gmaes Characters and voice cast
Many of the Japanese voice cast from Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty will be returning to reprise their roles in Guns of the Patriots, with the notable exception of Kōji Totani, the voice of Revolver Ocelot, who died in February 2006. Totani will be replaced by Liquid Snake's Japanese voice actor Banjō Ginga. Houko Kuwashima and Kikuko Inoue will reprise the roles of Mei Ling and Rosemary respectively for the game, Inoue will also voice a new character, Sunny, the daughter of Olga Gurlukovich. Japanese film director Shinya Tsukamoto will provide the Japanese voice for Vamp, replacing original actor Ryotaro Okiayu. An elderly EVA (who appears under the identity of Big Mama), from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, will also appear, and her voice will be provided by singer Mari Natsuki.
English voice acting work is being recorded in tandem under voice-director Kris Zimmerman.

David Hayter returns as Solid Snake, with Quinton Flynn (Raiden), Paul Eiding (Roy Campbell), Christopher Randolph (Otacon), Debi Mae West (Meryl Silverburgh), Jennifer Hale (Naomi Hunter), and Phil LaMarr (Vamp) all reprising their roles from previous titles. The role of EVA will be voiced by actress Lee Meriwether. Cam Clarke, who performed the voice of Liquid Snake in the first two Metal Gear Solid games, will not be a part of the Metal Gear Solid 4 cast. The role of Liquid Ocelot was given to Patric Zimmerman, the voice of Revolver Ocelot. Kris Zimmerman, denying allegations of nepotism, has clarified that Kojima always intended for the character to use Ocelot's voice. The character of Rosemary, played by Lara Cody in MGS2, will be played by Jennifer Hale in MGS4. Ryan Payton has stated that due to lack of space that there will be no option to switch audio to different languages.

Other new characters include Drebin, a self-styled "arms launderer" (notably voiced in Japanese by Keiji Fujiwara, the Japanese voice of Sigint in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater) whose Stryker will act as the in-game store. ; "Little Gray", a small, shaven, shorts-wearing monkey who appears to follow Drebin; a new FOXHOUND team under the command of Meryl Silverburgh; and the Beauty and the Beast Unit.

The four members of FOXHOUND, also known as "Rat Patrol Team" , are sent to investigate PMC activity. The team includes Meryl Silverburgh; Ed, Meryl's second-in-command; Jonathan, a hulking soldier; and Johnny Sasaki, also known as "Akiba", the team's electronics expert. Meryl, Ed, and Jonathan use the SOP (Sons Of the Patriots) system to share each other's senses via the nanomachine network inside their bodies. Meryl states that they are investigating PMC activity for the US Army CID. Ed and Jonathan are named after Ed Brown and Jonathan Ingram, the main characters of Hideo Kojima's Policenauts, from which Meryl also originally gained her name.

The Beauty and the Beast Corps

Four new bosses are also debuting in Guns of the Patriots: Crying Wolf, Raging Raven, Screaming Mantis, and Laughing Octopus, all members of The Beauty and the Beast Corps. Their animal names openly reference characters from Metal Gear Solid's FOXHOUND unit, and the emotions relating to the Cobra Unit from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. A close inspection of Screaming Mantis reveals two marionettes of previous MGS bosses: Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow, both of whom were psychics. All four of them are women who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. The only way they can cope with the damage done to their minds is to become war machines. Their inner appearance is referred to as "Beauty", while their outer appearance is referred to as "Beast". Four real-life models were chosen for their in-gmaes appearances as their "Beauty" side: Lyndall Jarvis, Scarlett Chorvat, Mieko Rye, and Yumi Kikuchi. The English dubbing for the characters is done by having the female voice actors perform the lines while Fred Tatasciore overdubs on top of the female voices, creating a split-voice effect for the characters.

Soundtrack

The score to Metal Gear Solid 4 is being led by Harry Gregson-Williams, his third Metal Gear Solid soundtrack, and Nobuko Toda, who provided music for Metal Gear Acid and Metal Gear Acid 2. Directed by Norihiko Hibino, GEM Impact employees Yoshitaka Suzuki and Takahiro Izutani also made compositions late in the game's production. Other contributors are Konami employees Shuichi Kobori, Kazuma Jinnouchi, Akihiro Honda, and Sota Fujimori.

There are two vocal themes for the game. The opening theme, "Love Theme", is sung by Jackie Presti and composed by Nobuko Toda. The ending theme, "Here's To You", is sung by Lisbeth Scott. Before the release of the game, "MGS4 - Theme of Love - Smash Bros. Brawl Version" was provided for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in the Shadow Moses Island level.

The official soundtrack was released on May 28, 2008 by Konami Digital Entertainment under the catalog number GFCA-98/9. It is comprised of two discs of music and 47 tracks. A soundtrack album will also be packaged with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition.

Marketing

At a press conference on May 13, 2008, Hideo Kojima announced a marketing campaign and agreements with several companies to promote the gmaes . An Apple iPod is an in-game item that Snake can use to change the background music, and collect hidden songs scattered throughout the game. ReGain Energy Drinks are used in the game as a stamina booster, and Sony Ericsson mobile phones are used.

Konami and Ubisoft put an unlockable costume in the gmaes for Snake, Altaïr from the Ubisoft stealth game Assassin's Creed. Initially revealed on April Fool's Day 2008, Kojima later announced that it would actually be in the game, unlockable by doing "something special".

Metal Gear Online

Metal Gear Online (commonly abbreviated to MGO) is the online component of Metal Gear Solid 4. The game will feature 16-player online stealth battles, encouraging players to engage heavily in teamwork. MGO will initially disributed with MGS4 in the form of a starter pack, although it will eventually see a stand-alone release. The gmaes will also be expanded through downloadable content via the PlayStation Network, potentially for up to 10 years.

The gmaes was in beta testing in Japan from August 20 to September 3, 2007. Around 3,000 people joined the test sessions. US and Canadian customers who pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid 4 in April were also included in a further beta test which was due to begin on April 21, 2008, however due to many technical dificulties including a server overload, it was postponed to April 25, 2008 and continued until May 11, 2008, promptly shutting down at midnight PST until its return on June 12 for the world-wide release of MGS4. The beta package obtained from pre-ordering the gmaes also includes a documentary DVD titled "Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2" with an "invite code" inside. On April 11, 2008, Konami announced an open Metal Gear Online beta for Europe and that it would be available for download from April 26 and would be entirely open to everyone who downloaded it until May 11.

Time

Time in the game is different than real time. The gmaes starts at 1930, and the year moves up five years at the end of every day.

A day in Monopoly Tycoon is worth 24 hours like a regular day. Every day, at 6 AM, the players have to pay for stock and for bills that go to the utilities (6 AM costs). Tenants in apartments also pay their rent. If the player has enough apartments, their cash can actually go up. Other ways that players can make money include owning utilities, railroads, and other blocks (where businesses pay rent). At 9 AM, the "day businesses" open up until 5 PM when they close for the day. Every day at 6 PM, the "night businesses and entertainment" open up until midnight when another five years go by, a new day begins, and the night businesses close for the day.
Also, every decade, new businesses are unlocked so they can be opened up. These new businesses can be unlocked every decade from 1940 to 1980 at 2 AM.

Businesses

When the game starts in the year 1930, "basic businesses" like grocery stores, clothes stores, and diners are automatically unlocked. Other businesses available at the start of the game include a bakery, book store, café, doctor's office, toy store, news stand, jewelry store, and hardware store. Original night businesses include a restaurant, bar, cinema, theatre, and ballroom.

By the year 1940, new businesses start to be unlocked (until 1980). Some of these businesses include a department store, ice cream parlor, travel agent, delicatessen or deli, computer store, cell phone shop, health club, and supermarket. The unlocking of night businesses in Monopoly Tycoon ends in the year 1970. This is because that all of the night businesses in the gmaes that exist today already existed by 1975 to 1980. These businesses include a nightclub, pool hall, fast food outlet, bowling alley, amusement arcade, and video store. In some levels all of the day and night businesses do not unlock. For example, if you play the "Biggest Empire Value By 1960" level, only the original businesses, and the businesses that are unlocked from 1940 to 1950 are unlocked at the end of the level.

Music and Sounds

The music of the game is lighthearted and changes as the game progresses through the different decades. For example, in the 1970's (1970 and 1975 Monopoly Tycoon years), music from the 1970's can be heard. When you get to the year 1990, modern day music plays. This music will play until you get to the year 2030 (this year can only be reached in the "My Mega Metropolis" level). Then, music from the 1930's can be heard from then on.
Also, there are sounds that indicate the time of day and add a level of realism to the gmaes People, cars, and the wind all make noises, in varying degrees depending on the time of day. For example, during the morning, footsteps of people waking up and coming out of their apartments is played to signify the time the city wakes up. Throughout the game, also, the sound of coins falling can be heard when the player makes money.

Multiplayer Support
Monopoly Tycoon also includes support for multiplayer gmaes play over a LAN or Internet connection. Additionally, there is support for finding live online opponents through the included GameSpy Arcade software
